Miami, March 3, 2009 – HotelVideoReviews.com is launching the first “Hotel Video Review” partnership program for Online Travel Agencies at ITB Berlin.

Travel Agencies can now benefit from HVR Social Media Solutions and easily include video review features on their websites. The service offers an advanced, fully outsourced, and white-labeled solution for gathering user-generated video reviews from the travelers of the Travel Agencies. HotelVideoReviews.com publishes the videos on the website of the Travel Agency and on their own customer-facing travel portal. In return, partnering Travel Agencies receive highly qualified leads to their websites.

“We believe that video reviews are very important for the booking experience on a travel website,” says Mr. Jan Kooman, CEO of HotelVideoReviews.com. “Research shows that 78% of hotel bookers already use textual reviews when making travel-related decisions. However 42% find video to be the most trustworthy. Adding video content on a hotel booking webpage increases conversions up to 200%. They are essential to staying competitive in online travel.”

Mr. Marc Duijndam, partner at Greenhouse Innovation and former Country Manager at Google, recently joined HotelVideoReviews.com as an investing partner. “The second key point is that we provide our partnering Travel Agencies with qualified leads from our traffic network,” says Marc. “Our launching traffic network partner is WhereIveBeen.com, one of the largest Facebook applications in travel. WhereIveBeen shows our aggregated hotel video reviews on their destination pages. The booking links belonging to the video reviews link back to our partnering Travel Agencies. The profits are shared.”

HotelVideoReviews is building Online Travel partnerships and distribution/traffic partnerships. Among the launching partners are WhereIveBeen.com, EasyToBook.com, Gekko.com, TUI, and Hotels.nl.

CNN: How to be a YouTube travel star

Interesting article from CNN which proves our business model:

Online video is big. Americans watched a record 13.5 billion online videos in October, the last month for which figures are available, according to Comscore. That’s a 45 percent increase from a year ago. Nearly 8 out of 10 Internet users watched an online video, and among younger users, the Internet has already become a TV substitute.

Some of the most effective Internet videos are ones that allow travelers to “voice and record their own perspective, opinion and experience,” says Fionn Downhill, the chief executive of Elixir Interactive, an interactive marketing agency in Scottsdale, Arizona. “Videos documenting authentic, user-generated experiences spread like quick fire because they speak to the concerns and sentiment of the market.”

Last week we visited the Social Media in Travel conference in Munich. This was my second EyeforTravel conference and it was no surprise to me that Hotel Video Reviews are so much more in the picture then early 2008. Several conference speakers are stating that video reviews is the next big thing. And independent research shows that 41 percent is looking for video reviews when searching for a hotel (22 percent is looking for pictures). Seeing is believing, check out our beta: HotelVideoReviews.com.

PRESS RELEASE

Miami, August 27, 2008 – For anyone who stays in hotels, there’s a new way of making money – without any effort. Simply make a short film of your room, recording your comments, and send it to the newly launched international travel website “Tripr.tv”. When someone books a room at the hotel as a result of watching your video, you get a cut of the booking commission.

Launching all around the world today after 6 months of very successful trials, Tripr.tv is the first company of its kind – showing potential hotel guests what a hotel is really like, unlike the corporate pictures and videos which the hotels themselves show you.

“Almost a thousand hotels are already on the site, but we want tens of thousands more”, explained Mr. Jan Kooman, Tripr.tv CEO – “We are basically a kind of YouTube for the hotel business. Moving images are much more realistic than the, often outdated and glamorized, pictures which hotels themselves show. Our way, potential guests can really trust the hotel. When you’re filming for Tripr.tv, you’re actually walking around your room. Everyone can see the truth!”

About Tripr.tv

As Tripr.tv has arrangements with hotel booking companies, which pay commission, Tripr.tv forwards part of this commission to the video maker, averaging $10 per booking. The site was launched in “beta” format in January 2008 and has already attracted great interest from hotels and guests.

Hotels realize that it’s a great opportunity for potential guests to see what other guests think – and to see what they see.

Recently, Tripr.tv has been funded by Greenhouse Innovation, venture capital firm of Mr. Sander Andreae and Mr. Marc Duijndam. Duijndam is former managing director at Google.
